Stuff-A-Truck Food Drive
UPDATE 4-24-14:
The food drive will be extended to Monday, April 28th, to allow the upcoming weekend time to collect items. Visit your neighbors while taking a walk around the block and see if your community will help our drive. All items must be brought in by Monday since this is our loading day. These items will still count in the grade level competition.
The tallies currently stand as:
Kindergarten: 467 items
1st grade: 212 items
2nd grade: 523 items
3rd grade: 290 items
4th grade: 256 items
Every year we've had at least one grade reach 1000 items. Who will do it this year?? Help your class win the over all prize of a dress down day, popcorn party, and movie by bringing in extra cans by Monday! Thank you for supporting the Northern Indiana Food Bank. Hello Kennedy Families,
Just a reminder that our annual Stuff-A-Truck food drive to support the Food Bank of Northern Indiana begins Tuesday, April 14!!! We will collect non perishable food and personal care items for two weeks. Collection boxes are located in each classroom and also by the front office. The grade level with the most number of items collected will receive a dress down day, popcorn party and movie.
Milt Lee, executive director of the Food Bank, spoke to the students about the wonderful opportunity they have to feed hungry people in our community and provide jobs for those who work at the food bank. A goal set was for each student to try to bring in at least 10 cansor items for our food drive. This would result in over 6000 items for the food bank! By working together, we can serve many!
